Gilded gold is wafer-thin real gold, also known as gold leaf. The gold is so thin that you cannot grab it with your hands. However, there is a technique to attach the gold to your jewelry.
The gold can be applied to deeper parts of your jewelry so that it is protected against wear or with a layer of UV resin as protection. It is not durable to confirm as we can with the gold paste or keumboo technique.
NOTE: Not suitable for keum boo.
The gold immediately sticks to everything because it is statistical. It also blows away quickly, so make sure there are no fans on or a hair dryer aimed at your work surface.
- Apply a thin layer of the pergomano sticky ink and let it dry. You will see too much ink under the gold.
- Use a brush with real hair to apply the gold. By gently rubbing the edge of the gold, you can pick up a particle and apply it to the sticky ink.
- Cover the entire surface in this way.
- Gently pat the gold down with the bristles of the brush to ensure good adhesion. Repeat this to burn the gold.
- You cannot polish the gold because the layer is too thin for that.
- Apply a thin or thick layer of UV resin for good protection of the gold layer.
The gold leaf can also be mixed in the resin for a completely different effect. use a toothpick for picking up and mixing. This will give you small flakes of gold in the resin that will "float" on your spot. They are light enough for this.
Gold leaf can also be applied to wood and polymer clay. The best way to do this is to search the internet.
