New in the range is the bronze clay from Art Clay from Japan
The bronze clay works the same as Art Clay silver clay.
The clay has a shrinkage of about 10-13% (depending on various factors).
Clay composition: 90% copper and 10% tin.
Our advice is to bake in the oven with the 2 phase method.
According to the baking instructions of the manufacturer, it can be baked in 1x. In activated charcoal, in a cold oven to 820 degrees in 2 hours. Testing is and remains the number 1 advice.
The 2 phase firing method:
Stage 1: Place 3 cm of activated carbon in the bottom of a metal container. Place your workpiece on this. No lid.
Bake at 500°C for 10-15 minutes to allow the binding agent to burn out.
Phase 2: Remove the metal tray from the oven and now fill the container further with activated carbon and cover your workpiece with a layer of at least 2 cm. Place the container back in the oven and burn at 820°C for 2 hours.
Allow to cool to room temperature in the container. This can be done in the oven but also outside. Opening the container too quickly will cause your workpiece to oxidize black.
The workpiece takes on various colors of red/purple/blue when you take it out at a temperature around 200°C
