How to Use Our UV-LED Resin
Work in a clean, dust-free area and wear nitrile gloves for your safety. Ensure good ventilation as well.
Mixing for Special Effects
Add a personal touch by mixing the resin with glitters or pigments, or by incorporating small items like dried flowers, stones, or beads. Use our handy mixing palette to see the color and combine multiple pigments. Mix with a toothpick or spatula.
Note: Use pigments sparingly. Too much pigment can hinder curing because it prevents light from penetrating the resin properly, which may leave the piece sticky or soft. Work in thin layers to ensure even curing.
Removing Air Bubbles
After mixing the pigment powders and adding the resin to your project, air bubbles may form. Sometimes these are very small and not easily visible; however, the resin heats up quickly, causing air to expand and potentially creating a large visible bubble. It’s easier to remove bubbles on the mixing palette because the resin is not too thick. Hold a lighter briefly above the resin to allow these bubbles to escape, then finish your project.
Caution: Keep the lighter at a safe distance and move it quickly back and forth to prevent overheating. Excessive heat can damage the resin and cause discoloration.
- Tip: If your workspace cannot be completely darkened, you can place a cardboard box on its side to work in. Position your project inside the box to protect it from sunlight and unintended curing.
- Also, keep the UV lamp at a distance from resin that should not yet cure. This allows you to maintain control over the process and prevents premature curing.
